So its the middle of the night and I'm up, restless and sleepless.
Common circumstance as of late.
I think I might actually be nocturnal. I seem to come home after the show, exhausted, thinking I'll write my reports and head straight to bed. It never really works out that way though. I sit in front of my computer for a bit, get myself ready for bed, and then all of a sudden I'm wide awake.
Maybe I'm missing some crucial window to get myself to bed, or perhaps turning on my computer is somehow revving up my brain and messing with my sleep cues.
I think I've tried every reasonable means to adjust my sleep habits and nothing has really had much impact.
Its almost 4am.
I'm tired of feeling so tired all the time and yet so sleepless when I should be sleeping.
I'm up every morning between 8:30- 9:30am. Not super early, but pretty good by my standards. I get plenty of exercise and fresh air, my caffeine habit is under control and I have a strong grasp of the importance of good sleep hygiene. I have even done an online CBT course for insomnia through the Harvard Medical Centre (after much urging from my GP) to no avail. *stupid-know-it-all-Harvard-Doctors telling me I probably fall asleep much earlier than I think I do and that I'm not really still awake at 5 or 6am.*
I am still awake.
sleep typing perhaps? Is that a thing? Useless.
Has anyone out there ever dealt with persistent or chronic insomnia? How did you get to sleep? I'm open to suggestions.
ugh.
alright time to turn this machine off.
Nite all
