3 months

So yesterday marked the 3 month mark of my Kamloops adventure! Yay! That means we're halfway folks!?!
That makes me deeply happy.
I can't quite see the finish line yet, but from now on I know that there will be more days behind me than in front of me.
In the spirit of celebration, my Kamloops roomie and I made our way to her mom's house (who is currently away on vacation and has a much nicer house than us).
We lounged in the back yard, enjoying some fresh air and drinking some Granville Island brew. FYI, The Granville Island brewery has come out with a really great summer ale ( 'False Creek Raspberry ale') and I highly recommend it. Advertisement over.

Once the sun was gone we moved indoors and watched our good old ws2002 tape. We've been trying to watch it for a while but hadn't found the time for it. I giggled. We all looked like babies in that video and our voices sounded full of hope and uncertainty. I get a bit sad when I watch that tape (which is why I hardly ever watch it). Sad cause I miss all those people like mad, even now, and also cause the sense of freedom that came with that experience has been hard to recreate in my life. I do have a very good life, and good people in my life, and WS was still somehow different. Hard to explain I guess.

We ended up spending the night. 1) cause we had been drinking but also 2) It was unG-dly hot in Kamloops yesterday and our house was unbearable.
I'm not a stranger to the okanagan summer heat, but somehow I can never quite get use to the stifling air or the restless sleeps.
I do remember having one summer like that in Vancouver. Ugh. The heat lasted for weeks and my roomie and I lived in the top level of an unshaded house. We sweltered.
So yesterday was quite lovely. Shade and beer and sundresses. That's what I call summer.

Keep well folks
only 3 months left to go. Whooohoooo!
